What are Essential Oils?
Young Living Essential Oils are concentrated sunlight in a bottle. They are the lifeblood of the plant. They are aromatic liquids distilled from plants, shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes and seeds. We have a symbiotic relationship with the plant world. We breathe oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. They breathe carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Many pharmaceutical drugs are derived from plants, but they isolate one of the many chemical constituents so they can patent it. Plants themselves cannot be patented. Young Living Essential Oils have all of their chemical constituents intact thus creating a broader spectrum for the healing process to occur. |

How do I know what oils to use? |
Young Living has over 100 different oils and blends of oils. Each essential oil has its own specific action in the body. I will be happy to consult with you about which oil would be most beneficial for you if you would like to give me a call or send me an email. Third party consulting is discouraged! |

For the basics I highly suggest you start with a kit called the Essential 7 Kit. The kit contains Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon, Joy, Peace and Calming, Panaway, and Purification. An educational CD is included. These 7 oils can replace much of what you currently have in your medicine cabinet. |
Lavender, for example, is called “the Swiss army knife” of all the oils. It is soothing to the body and mind as well as any skin ailments. It can cleanse wounds and is the best thing to apply to burns and other skin irritations. A few drops added to your bath water help the body relax and unwind. I have used it on sunburns with far less complications than anything else I have ever tried. |
Peppermint can help aid digestive function. It can combat mental and physical fatigue. Peppermint cools the body. It’s great for naturally bringing down fevers and relieving hot flashes. It also works for muscle soreness and pain. Add to baking or water for a pick me up. One drop of peppermint oil is equivalent to 26 cups of peppermint tea! |
Lemon promotes extra energy and mental clarity. It is an instant pick me up. It contains white blood cell stimulating properties and protects cellular health. It is wonderful diffused in a room or added to water or food. A friend of mine was an elementary schoolteacher in Denver. She wiped down the children’s desk with lemon everyday as well as peppermint if the children had any kind of test. She had the highest test scores as well attendance in the school. |
Joy is an uplifting blend of 10 aromatic compounds including rose, jasmine, rosewood, chamomile, bergamot, mandarin, ylang ylang, lemon, geranium, and palmarosa oils. It produces a magnetic energy to bring joy to the body, mind and spirit. It inspires romance and helps overcome deep-seated grief and depression.
I found it worked great for one of my daughters in her teenage years to calm the raging hormones! |
Peace and Calming is another delicious blend of essential oils including blue tansy, patchouli, tangerine, orange and ylang ylang. It can promote a deep sense of peace and emotional well being. It can relieve tension, anxiety, stress and insomnia. I have used it to calm down my twin boy grandchildren by rubbing it on the bottom of their feet or putting a couple drops in the bath. Lavender works wonders as well in combination with the Peace and Calming. |

Panaway is a blend that reduces pain and inflammation. It increases circulation and accelerates healing. It relieves pain from arthritis, sprains, muscle spasms, bumps and bruises. The oils are helichrysum, wintergreen, clove, and peppermint. My Pilates teacher had hip pain and after using the Panaway just once she finally got some much needed pain relief. It’s wonderful for those suffering from arthritic joint pain, too. |
Purification oil has a clean fresh smell. It cleanses and disinfects the air whether diffused or sprayed. It neutralizes mildew, cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors. It disinfects and cleanses cuts, scrapes, and insect bites. Bugs hate it. It repels mosquitoes and fleas naturally. This blend contains citronella, lemongrass, lavadin, rosemary, melaleuca, and myrtle.
I take it when I travel and spray the bed with it. Ask me about our formula for bed bugs. |
Thieves oil is a blend of Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, Clove, Lemon and Rosemary oils that protects your family and home with its natural immune-boosting benefits. The formula was founded on a legend of thieves in 14th Century France who used these aromatics to protect themselves while they robbed bodies with the plague.
Apply to the bottom of the feet or throat area for internal benefits. You may also diffuse throughout the room to kill airborne bacteria or dangerous black mold. This is scientifically documented information. Young Living carries a whole product line called Thieves including a concentrated “green” household cleaner, toothpaste, natural antibacterial hand soap and more. I also never travel without this oil blend. |
