Crystal Consciousness
All things have a spirit and a consciousness. Is it formed of source energy? Then it has consciousness. Think of all of the frequencies and energies that occupy this dimension as a very long piano keyboard. Human senses may be able to work with in a band of say 4 to 6 keys. Crystals simply operate at a different place on the keyboard. Expanding our awareness to feel energies outside of our normal parameters can be accomplished and as such one can connect fully with our crystal friends.
People are becoming more sensitive everyday. Hopefully, as people become more aware, they will understand that all things are connected. We are vibrational beings living in a vibrational universe and as such we live in a sea of energy. Every person, plant, animal, rock, droplet of water, and air molecule is a part of this ocean and nothing happens to one without having an effect on the whole.
Crystals have long been known as the purest form of energy transformed into third dimensional matter. There is an ancient knowledge here that is very, very special.

Working with a crystal as an individual
One of my most important understandings that I consistently emphasize in my classes and seminars is to treat each crystal as an individual. You are an individual and so it the crystal that you are working with. When I begin a crystal attunement class I will give everyone in the class a crystal of one variety. It may be amethyst, or rose quartz, or clear quart or any other crystal. What is important is that the crystals are all of the same variety. If I have 50 people in the class I will have 50 different way that that crystal type will be working with the people that are in the class. Almost never are any 2 exactly the same. So when you open Melodies' book or any other book on crystals, use their information only as a general guideline.
If I were looking for a crystal to help me with the clearing of some emotional issues, most people would normally look at a rose quartz crystal. Instead of limiting myself to looking only at the my rose quartz
friends in the store, I will hold the thought in my being of a crystal that would like to help me with this healing and allow my intuition to guide me. It may be a beautiful clear quartz piece that your attention is drawn to or a lapia lazuli. Trust you heart and yourself.

Clearing the energies in a crystal ~ Clearing by Thought
The basic method that I teach always starts with asking the crystal. If you are new at connecting with crystals start with something simple such as the elements.
1. So feel for yourself which element the crystal would like to use in the clearing...fire, earth, air, water, or ether.
Let's say for example that the element that you are choosing is water. Is it fresh water or salt? If it were salt water...it may feel like it would like to rest in the surf with the tidal flow washing over it. If it were fresh water perhaps the thought of placing the crystal in a mountain stream. The fun thing about clearing a crystal with thought is that there are no limits of physicality.
Think of clearing a crystal with fire. How about visualizing the lava from a volcano flowing through your crystal. Your visualizations are limitless.
